It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the
VETERAN, not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the
VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the
VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.

It is the
VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the
VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag,

It is the veteran,
who serves under the Flag,

ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

Our US Senate/House took 2 days off as they couldn't work because of an expected storm. Because of the dangers from Hurricane Isabelle approaching Washington DC, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment.

They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!"

Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment; it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a service person.

The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.

We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.

God Bless them all!!!

Look  at  the black patch under the  U.S.   flag.

The patch says "Doing the work of"
The flags are France,Germany,and Russia.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS?  OR WHERE THIS IS?

This statue currently stands outside the Iraqi palace, now home to the 4th Infantry division.  It will eventually be shipped home and put in the memorial museum in Fort Hood, Texas

The statue was created by an Iraqi artist named Kalat, who for years was forced by Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds of bronze busts of Saddam that dotted Baghdad.

Kalat was so grateful for the Americans' liberation of his country; he melted 3 of the heads of the fallen Saddam and made the statue as a memorial to the American soldiers and their fallen warriors.  Kalat worked on this memorial night and day for several months.

To the left of the kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort as he mourns the loss of his comrade in arms.

Do you know why we don't hear about this in the news?   Because it is heartwarming and praiseworthy.  The media avoids it because it does not have the anti-military shock effect the media dotes on.
